MYTH: Shaving is the most efficient hair removal method.
You’ll see hair returning only one or two days after shaving with a razor, but with Veet you can have smooth skin for up to four weeks-avoiding that roughness just above the skin surface you get after shaving.
MYTH: Hair removal creams can’t be used on the bikini line.
You can use Veet hair removal creams around your bikini line, but take care not to make contact with your intimate areas. Applying the product too close to the genital area can result in adverse reactions.
MYTH: You should exfoliate the same day you remove hair.
To get the best result when you depilate, exfoliate 24 hours before using Veet products. This can further enhance that silky smooth feeling.
MYTH: The more often you remove body hair, the thicker it will get.
Regular and repeated waxing actually makes hairs grow back finer and thinner over time and our cream hair removal products do not affect hair thickness at all. With Veet you can enjoy longer-lasting smoothness and be confident that when the hair grows back, it won’t be any thicker.
MYTH: People with sensitive skin cannot use Veet.
You can use Veet even if you have sensitive skin! We’ve developed a specially formulated product line for more delicate skin types. Look for products which say ‘sensitive skin’ on the pack - and have been dermatologically tested. Before using, test your reaction by doing a small patch test to check sensitivity. Follow all the instructions on the leaflet inside the package.
MYTH: I should use alcohol-based products when I’m removing hair.
In order to avoid skin irritation, never use alcohol-based products before, during or after hair removal. Remove any excess wax with a Veet Perfect Finish Wipe and you can step out in confidence.
MYTH: Hot showers are good for your skin.
Long, hot showers can dry out your skin. Try to take shorter showers with lukewarm or cool water to be kinder to the skin as well as the environment!
MYTH: If the weather is cloudy, I don’t need to wear sunscreen.
Ultraviolet rays can cause premature aging and damage the skin, so protecting yourself from UV exposure by wearing sunscreen, even on cloudy days, is essential. Make it part of your daily beauty routine!
MYTH: It’s difficult to maintain hair-free skin.
Keeping your skin smooth and well cared for is easier than you think. With Veet, you can achieve smooth skin for up to four weeks- what's more- by using Veet waxes, you’ll get fewer, finer, softer hair regrowth!. We’re here to help you choose the hair removal solution that best suits your lifestyle. Try the handy Find my Veet tool to select the perfect product for you.
MYTH: Anyone can use wax products.
Waxing is not suitable for the elderly or diabetics, and though suitable for pregnant women, could cause bruising so we would recommend Veet Hair Removal Creams for anyone who is pregnant, diabetic or elderly. View the precautions and package instructions for further information.
MYTH: Hair removal cream and razors act in the same way.
Achieve smoother, softer skin by using a Veet Hair Removal Cream. Hair is removed just below the skin surface and regrows with rounded tips, feeling softer to touch. Razors, on the other hand, cut the hair just above the skin, leaving sharp stubble that makes your skin lose its hair-free smoothness faster.
MYTH: Hair takes the same time to grow back if I use creams or shave
Veet Cream acts closer to the root, with results that last up to twice as long as shaving. So you can achieve beautifully smooth skin with touchably soft results and you’ll be hair free for longer than if you used a razor!
MYTH: You should wait at least a month before waxing again.
Veet Wax Strips are designed to remove hair as short as 1.5mm (1/16th inch), that’s like a grain of sand to you and me, so you don’t have to wait for hair to grow long before waxing again. You can easily maintain that smooth result and be sure that any regrowth needn’t stay around for long!
